I live in an older house in West London, and Virgin Media is the only fibre / cable internet available in my building except for Sky.

All the reviews are abysmal especially regarding frequent outages and not being able to cancel.

Does anyone resell their network or similar? Is it as awful as people say?

A good test is to give the customer service line a ring (not sales) and see how it goes. 0345 454 1111.

Sky use Openreach cables, so you should have the option of all the other Openreach operators. Have you tried them?

Stay away from Virgin. Go with Sky.

Yeah Virgin can sell you a 1Gig line, but you're at their mercy on whether you actually get service at all. My 1Gig line is basically unusable for the past week, and they won't be fixing it til next Tuesday at the earliest.
