VM TiVo switch to flex.

Only just realised Vm do a stream service and was wondering if exciting TV/BB customers can switch to this service get rid of the cables all over the house?

Thanks

Yes, you can switch to it. Flex is a Broadband add-on which cannot be mixed with existing TV services, so you would have to drop the existing TV service. Bear in mind it is purely a Streaming box. There are no recording or live pause facilities, & multiroom is not available. It's one box per account.

Does it act the same as a TiVo box with tv guide etc? And will I have my same tv package?

        Hello Les2013,

        Thanks for your post.

Sounds like most questions have been answered already regarding our Stream box.

I have Flex, you can pause Live TV & RW, also Watch from Start on most channels, you can get up to 6 Flex boxes, extra £10 a month, not sure if it's for each extra box, only in the new XPON areas

Pause, rewind & Watch from the Start relies on the broadcaster of the channel you are watching providing the facility themselves, as there is only a small buffer in the box. Extra boxes are only available in Full Fibre XGS-PON areas. Existing cable franchise areas are currently restricted to one Flex box per account when not taking any legacy cable TV services (which the OP currently is).

If you are a TiVo-only customer you'll need to get broadband for Flex. However the existing coaxial cable can be used for the hub.

  • Exciting customers can, but the Coax cable will still be needed for hub as Stream is only compatible with VM broadband.

    Boring customers definitely can't 😉

The Stream box would only have the free-to-view channels and then you'd manage your own subscriptions through the stream for anything else, such as Sky services, Disney +, Netflix etc. It doesn't come with a TV package such as Mega TV or Mixit TV.

If you can get Pay TV - but opt not to get it - you are entitled to a single Flex box.

Not heard of this, is this a package level?
