Stream box suddenly started saying need more power

I have had a stream box for 4 months in this time there hasn't been an issue, yesterday after the Internet outage that hit manchester, this has now been resolved but my stream box has started to complain it doesnt have enough power.  The engineer plugged it into the bacl of my TV so never had a power source for it, seems like this was missed on installation bit hasn't been an issue till now.

Can someone advise how I get a new power supply or if there is anything else I can do, I currently have no TV after a 12 hour internet outage, last month we had a three day outage, this is my first time to virgin and tbh not really that impressed at the moment.

    On our wavelength

Ours was plugged directly into the tv too. Problem for us was the tv when in standby would kill the power on the usb socket. So the stream box would load up from a hard reset and take an age.

I don’t know if VM supply plugs for them. I used a fire tv stick plug that I had and it works fine now.

also, you should get compensation for the three day outage…..assuming you registered the loss of service.

AFAIK, the stream boxes should be supplied with a combined power/ethernet PSU.  This supplies the correct power levels and also allows for an ethernet connection rather than Wifi.  There are many threads here when this PSU was not supplied.  If you wait here a day or two a VM Mod should pick this up and discuss directly with you.

Thanks for the response, tried plugging it into a separate USB plug but still getting the same message about not enough power to the stream box, its been working with no issues before this.

Yes I did register the loss, not recieved anything yet.
