Second box. How is it powered?

We’ve got a 360 box for the living room, but I’d also like to be able to watch live TV on our set in the kitchen. Does the streaming box do this? I want to avoid having to use all the individual streaming apps to change channels. We’ve got two plug sockets available, one for TV and one for the soundbar. Does the streaming box need its own plug socket too? Thank you

Stream box uses its own power supply, it's not battery powered.

I don't believe that live TV uses the broadcaster-apps, but anything other than live TV certainly does. Unless you want access to pay or premium-channels, then Freeview could be a good solution for you.

Thank you. Can the stream box be powered  via the TV like a Roku stick, or does it need an actual plug socket?

The Flex (stream) box seems very particular about power.  It's can't be fed off the TV USB, but is supplied with a combined ethernet/usb power adapter.   I believe it's £5 pm to rent the Flex box.  Personally I'd go with a Freeview box, if an aerial is available, as you seem only to want to watch live TV?
