Maximum number of streaming boxes

I have two V6 and 3 old standard TiVO boxes and had a major hassle to get a contract for those as the maximum of 4 boxes was exceded. I've run ethernet cables to the upstairs bedrooms but embarrassingly it's a slapdash affair at best. However it works and the kitchen and another bedroom, on the ground floor, have reasonable WiFi. Is it possible to have 5 Streaming boxes to replace the old defunct TiVO boxes and the non-360 V6 boxes?

Just as an aside I've negotiated a contract at another property which is referred to as a Hybrid system consisting of a 360 installation, consisting of 2 V6 and one mini boxes, plus a streaming box.

On this point, remember TV360 runs Horizon-firmware, TiVo & V6 run TiVo-firmware. Fundamentally TiVo & Horizon firmware are different and cannot run together. So in this example you have 2 x TV360-master, 1 x TV360-mini & a non-recording Stream (which also runs Horizon)

You don't have any V6 here. Just like in your previous example, I agree with Roger that the only way you'll get 5 boxes in one home, is to abandon the TiVo-platform, try to retain 1 x TV360-master (converting the V6), and lose the recording capacity on all the additional boxes by swapping them for Stream. You may get lucky and manage to convert both V6 into TX360-master and only have 3 Streams rather than 4.

The most likely solution now is to migrate one V6 to a 360 and have four Stream boxes. You can have a maximum of six boxes in total, so a 360 and five Stream boxes is also possible. You'd be required to return the unneeded V6 (but not the TiVos).

As for the other property: VM doesn't mix 360s and V6s, and the Stream box can work only with a 360 for multiroom. Also VM no longer uses the 360 mini for multiroom for new installations, it's now Stream which plays back recordings on the 360's hard drive like the 360 mini does. So you'll get a 360 migrated from a V6 plus three Stream boxes (or perhaps less likely two 360s migrated from V6s plus two Stream boxes).

I'll add that the Stream boxes get all their content over the network from the hub, so for best results do run Ethernet cabling for them especially for boxes installed upstairs. My standard advice is to hire an electrician to do this, it's a one-off cost which will be a permanent benefit.
