ADDITIONAL BOXES

I would like to get an additional set top box (not sure if it's a Tivo or 360 box) but looking through the discussions it appears that virgin no longer do additional boxes and now do streaming boxes.  

I can't anywhere on the website, or in accounts, where I a] find information about them or b] how to enquire ording one.

Can anyone help?

  • Thanks for the response.  I have a TV360 box so I suspect they'll try to push a stream box in my direction.  Do you know how much they cost?

      Hi again Plasticbrummie​ 

      It's £10 a month extra for the first additional box and any other additional boxes are an extra £5 each per month. You can have up to 6 boxes in total. 

      You might have to pay a £5 delivery charge for the extra box, and also an activation fee of £35.

      As per my other post try and negotiate with retentions, you might even get a package regrade

    You need to confirm which actual box you have.

    Providing it isn't the old tivo then you should be able to order an additional set top box, however if it's a V6 that you have then VM will probably 'encourage' you to have an over the air regrade to it so it becomes a TV360 box and then add on a Stream box. The Stream box is IP based and so doesn't need VM cabling. It's therefor prtable and can be used in any room.  The only problem is it doesn't have a hard drive so all recordings will be made on your main box.

    If you are coming to the end of your current contract I suggest selecting options 1,1, 4 and 4 when dialing 150 from a VM landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone, which should put you through to retentions (thinking of leaving) and negotiate a new deal.  They have better offers than the front line agents.  Although you might speak to a first line agent to begin with tell them you are wanting to speak to cancellations and they should then pass you through to the actual retentions agent.
