Reduce ping on online game

Hi, probably been asked several times but when utilising a racing game on iPad and doing the usual ( use Ethernet cable or race game on 5ghz near hub , I would like to know if there is changes I could do on my hub 4 to help reduce ping on game (averaging 48ms ) as I know other users get less but not saying how they do it!!

can changing the band widths help? What happens if I changed to a dns band? 

any help would be appreciated

    Not using half duplex Wi-Fi would help as could disabling VPNs like Apple Relay.

    Of the 48ms expect up to 2/3rds of that to be the distance from home to the game server.
