Connection to Games

over the last 2 weeks i can not connect online to certian games with out use of a vpn espically certain games inside steam one of them been palword and others  and my ps5 i have turned off the parental controls rebooted the router countless times i have checked to see if any faults in my area i get told their is none also tried changin the dns inside the device been used also still same but if i switch my vpn on it works straight away no issuse so its a virgin media issuse is their any solution to this or do i need to get back on to virgin bout it
