Unable to receive or send emails via outlook & virgin webmail

getting the following message 
Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for [MOD EDIT: Personal details].' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for [MOD EDIT: Personal details]. Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Also keeps asking for smtp.virginmedia.com details which I know are correct.

It will not let me add my email to the webmail just says my password is in correct.

  • magicfinger you have a few minutes left to edit your post to remove your email address from the post.  Otherwise it will remain on view for scammers to harvest until the Community Moderator removes it  in the morning.

    As for the outlook error message the fact that you can't log in to the email account via VM webmail suggests a bigger problem with the email address.  Do you still have a Virgin Media broadband account to which the email address concerned is attached?

  • My Virginmedia email account not receiving emails and unable to view in webmail. Its asking me my stmp password and does not recognise it.

      Hi there,

      Thanks for your post - sorry to hear you've been having trouble with your email account.

      Just to confirm, you're experiencing issues when signed into Outlook and through our webmail service?

      I would first try resetting your password and then generate an app password through your My Virgin Media account. You'll then need to use this password to access your emails via third party clients, such as Outlook.

      Are you able to confirm if your email account is attached to an active broadband subscription with us?
