Trash Folder missing

I have a blueyonder email account and recently when using webmail in Firefox the Trash Folder is missing from the left hand panel.  Also when I delete an email it is going into the Spam folder in the absence of the Trash.

Also when I go to Settings and then Change IMAP Subscription I can still not see a Trash Folder to enable.

How do I get the Trash back and ensure that any deleted message get put there instead of Spam.

Thanks

Drew

  • What happens if you expand the Archive and Google Mail folders?

Have you tried switching to desktop layout in the browser?

  • Hello dfranks

Thanks for raising the email account issues and missing trash folder with us via the forums, we appreciate you raising this and welcome to the community.

It's certainly a strange issues as Coenoby has alluded to. Where you able to try any of the steps laid out? If so, did they help at all?

When did you last notice having the folder available? Is this the same on mobile devices you may have access to the account set up on?

That's very strange and not something I have come across before on the forum.

    The fact that:

    1.  the Trash folder is missing from the list of folders in the IMAP Subscription section
    2.  deleted emails are moving to the Spam folder
    3. there is no user option to delete the main email folders such as Inbox and Trash. You can only delete folders in the "My Folders" section from VM webmail.

all suggest that the issue is something fundamental with the email account itself.  So I suspect it's not something you can resolve and it will need to be investigated by VM staff.

Having said that, it would be worth trying a different browser - (I am pretty certain that won't help but at least you can say that you have tried that if / when you get asked😉)

The other thing I would try is to hit the "Refresh folders" button in the VM IMAP Subscription page. Again, I don't think that will help but it's worth checking.

Is there a "Trash" or "Deleted Items" folder appearing in any email apps or clients that you use?  If so, do emails that you delete from the email app appear in the Spam folder in your VM webmail account?

Sorry I cannot be more helpful but the VM Forum Team (VM staff members) are probably best placed to help you. One of the team will contact you via this forum thread, hopefully tomorrow.
