Problem changing email password

I have suddenly had a message to enter password for my email but my current password has failed. I am trying to reset but are stuck at the point of having to enter an alternative email to receive the reset info. I have entered an alternative non-Virgin email but get the message:

"You've recently requested to change the email address you use to sign in to My Virgin Media. Please check your emails and verify this change before making further account changes."

I have received nothing to my alternative email account (or my normal Virgin accounts!) so can't get any further. 

Advice welcome please. Thanks.

  • Good to read you resolved this gremlin by using an alternative email address; FWIW the workaround is to immediately resubmit the original email address after entering the alternative.

  • I seem to have resolved this. Though my original alternative email was not accepted, I generate another with a different address but still with gmail and this time it worked! There's no sense to it, but it does seem to be OK now.

  • didn't receive a "change email notification" just ended up in an eternal loop trying to change my virgin.net password which is never accepted. Help please

      Thanks for posting and welcome to our community 😊

      Sorry to hear you're having some issues with your emails, can you confirm if you've tried the below👉

      • Sign in to My Virgin Media

      • Go to Account settings, then Account details

      • Tap Manage next to Manage your Virgin Media Mail app password under Virgin Media Mail

      • Then, under Virgin Media Mail app password tap Get password

      • Continue the flow and a new secure password will be generated, and the mailbox unlocked

      • Update any third-party apps that may be use to access your Virgin Media Mail emails with this new app password.
