NTWORLD email not appearing in 'Manage My Other Virgin Media Accounts'

Hi all.
I can finally login to MyVirginMedia.com AND retrieve my NTLWORLD emails - I think VM must have made some changes at last - IT dept told me they were working on it.

However I am concerned - IT asked me to change my primary email from my NTWORLD address to a different one (gmail) which I have done. I can now login to MyVirginMedia.com using the new email address and password.
I can also send and receive my NTLWORD email as well - both webmail and apps.

However if I look at 'Manage My Other Virgin Media Accounts' my NTWORLD address is no longer there, but others in my household still have their NTLWORLD addresses listed. I assume this is because it was my primary account login which has been changed.

My question is:
Should I add my NTWORLD address to this list or not?
Seems odd that I'm still sending and receiving emails but its not in the list of email acounts. I'm reluctant to add it back as it is working for now but I don't want to lose it again while I change all my logins to a more reliable email service.

Any advice would be appreciated.

  • kantblue  I can understand your confusion.  Actually your NLTWorld email address is still your primary email account as far as your Virgin Media account is concerned.  What has changed is the username that you use to access the primary email account.  In your case this is now the gmail address that you chose to use.

Your Ntlworld email address will continue to function as normal but the way you access it via VM webmail and My Virgin Media has changed with the gmail address now being the username.

If you want to set up the ntlworld email address in an email app or client such as Thunderbird or Outlook you will still need to use the full ntlworld email address as the username for the account.

As for adding it to your list of secondary accounts - forget that - it cannot be done.  The section you are seeing to add a secondary account will not work with ntlworld or any VM, blueyonder or Virgin.email address. In any case new secondary accounts no longer come with an email facility.

kantblue If the email address concerned is the primary email address for the account then it won't appear in the Manage Other My Virgin Media accounts section as that only shows secondary accounts.

      Hi Graham_A

Thanks for your reply - I'm still quite confused though! The NTLWORD email is no longer my primary login and its not on the Manage My Other Accounts list either.

I used to login to MYVIRGINMEDIA.COM using my NTLWORLD email address as my Primary login.

However, the support desk made me change my Primary login to a Gmail address with a new password. I now login using the gmail address, but when I click on to 'Virgin Mailbox' from the main site I still get my NTLWORLD emails.

I am concerned that I will lose the NTWORLD email address I have because:
1: It's no longer my primary login (now a gmail address).
      2. Its not in the additional emails list either.

I can send receive emails to my NTLWORD box, but I'm concerned that as this mailbox no longer has any settings I can see or change it will disappear. I'm still wondering if I should add this to my secondary list of emails - it lets me do this and sends a confirmation email but I daren't click on it in case I lose the lot.

I have to say the recent issues with emails have made me decide to move all of my login emails to another address it has taken weeks to sort this and I'm still not convinced its setup properly.
