NTWORLD email not appearing in 'Manage My Other Virgin Media Accounts'
Hi all.
I can finally login to MyVirginMedia.com AND retrieve my NTLWORLD emails - I think VM must have made some changes at last - IT dept told me they were working on it.
However I am concerned - IT asked me to change my primary email from my NTWORLD address to a different one (gmail) which I have done. I can now login to MyVirginMedia.com using the new email address and password.
I can also send and receive my NTLWORD email as well - both webmail and apps.
However if I look at 'Manage My Other Virgin Media Accounts' my NTWORLD address is no longer there, but others in my household still have their NTLWORLD addresses listed. I assume this is because it was my primary account login which has been changed.
My question is:
Should I add my NTWORLD address to this list or not?
Seems odd that I'm still sending and receiving emails but its not in the list of email acounts. I'm reluctant to add it back as it is working for now but I don't want to lose it again while I change all my logins to a more reliable email service.
Any advice would be appreciated.
kantblue I can understand your confusion. Actually your NLTWorld email address is still your primary email account as far as your Virgin Media account is concerned. What has changed is the username that you use to access the primary email account. In your case this is now the gmail address that you chose to use.
Your Ntlworld email address will continue to function as normal but the way you access it via VM webmail and My Virgin Media has changed with the gmail address now being the username.
If you want to set up the ntlworld email address in an email app or client such as Thunderbird or Outlook you will still need to use the full ntlworld email address as the username for the account.
As for adding it to your list of secondary accounts - forget that - it cannot be done. The section you are seeing to add a secondary account will not work with ntlworld or any VM, blueyonder or Virgin.email address. In any case new secondary accounts no longer come with an email facility.
