Ntlworld password change.

I am having problems with email. I have access to it on 2 devices but don't know what the password is and I can't change it. I was told on the online chat to contact talk talk to recover it as it was an ntlworld account. This is impossible as you need to be a talk talk customer. This is shocking customer service.

I am thinking i would like to just cancel my account today and move to another provider.

  • If you have a current Virgin media account you can sign into that account and generate a new password if required. 

    If you had a password that you could easily remember forget that with the Virgin generated one. 

    What package do you have with virgin.

     

  • I cannot change the password. It says it may be locked but I have access to it on 2 devices.

    I have just registered for online services and had to use a Gmail account as it wouldn't let me use the ntlworld account.

      Have you tried logging into your My Virgin Media account, then go to Account settings and have a look at the Virgin Media Mail settings, definitely been changed since I last looked.

      Do you have a talk talk account, what devices can you sign in with and what can't you sign in with. No idea why talk talk has been involved from what you have said,  Good luck with the forum team.

      Sorry to hear about these difficulties with an NTLworld password change. There could be a few different elements at play here so I will do my best to clear things up, and will then offer further support. 

      You need to have current active services with us to access any NTLworld, Blueyonder or virginmedia mail services. Each email inbox for one of these will be linked to a My Virgin Media account, which requires it's own unique login to access the mailbox, for secondary security authentication, and to generate any passwords needed to access the mailbox in a 3rd party application (such as outlook or applemail.)

      If you are trying to add the email address onto a device you need to use a special password generated through your My VM account for that email address. You do this by following the process outlined in the section titled 'How to set an app password to use an email app' from the 'manage email settings' help page linked just above 👆. To be clear - you need to use the app generated password and can't use the password you would use to access My VM for the email address.
