not receiving mail from talk talk addresses

OK, so, as per title, not receiving mail from talk talk. Have 2 family who have sent important emails to me this week, but they have not arrived (no, they are not in my 'spam' folder either!!) Appear to be getting mail from other providers, (Gmail, etc. ) just not Talk talk.

Family have re-resent them again yesterday, but nothing again today. They apparently are receiving replies I sent to them regarding the mail?? No problems with Bank, DVLA, just Talk talk. (they insist there is nothing wrong their end, as their servers have sent the messages.

Are VM having problems again with their servers?

Yes I have tried to access mail through outlook, and everything BUT talk talk is there as well.

No but it might well be that those TalkTalk emails failed Virgin Media's authentication process on incoming email and were not delivered to your mailbox.. It's not unusual to see posts here where people report that they do not receive verification or confirmation emails from certain sites.

Did the senders get any Non Delivery emails back? If so they might offer a clue as to why they failed. Also, were the emails sent from a single TalkTalk account or from different accounts?

As an aside, it is strange there have been no recent forum posts reporting issues of non receipt of TalkTalk emails. I have also just checked on the TalkTalk Community forum and at the moment there are no posts from TallkTalk users reporting that their emails do not get through to VM.

I'm not casting doubt on your issue it's just that if all TalkTalk emails to VM email accounts were failing I would have thought it would have come up. Perhaps it will over the next few days.

As it stands, if I was in your position I would try the following:

    1. As a test, I would send a VM email to the family's TalkTalk address and ask them to respond by using the "Reply" function. If you receive their "Reply" message but don't receive emails they have created as "New" emails that would raise some interesting questions.
    2. Also, I would check whether there are any Filter Rules set up in your VM webmail account or in Outlook that  might cause these emails to disappear. I say that because a lot of people set up their own filters to catch and delete spam that VM's spam filters miss. In some cases those rules can inadvertently catch genuine emails.

It is also possible this was a temporary glitch and things have resolved themselves.
