Not able to access my ntlworld email account

I have an old ntlworld.com email address which is connected to my ex husband virgin account, as he was initially the primary account holder. Years ago VM helped me access my virgin media account (eg to view my bills, services etc) by setting up my own login.

To access my ntworld emails via VM webmail, I use a Gmail account as a login, but this morning when I tried to login I was prompted to create a new ID. I did so with my Gmail account, and now it's asking me to connect/link it to a Virgin Media O2 account, which I did but now it shows up my ex husbands ntlworld emails rather than mine.

I have managed to unlink my Gmail login from this new VM O2 account but now I cant access my emails. It's insisting I need to link my Gmail (or whatever email address I use to login) to a VM account, which I cant do as then it shows up my ex husband's emails!

Any idea how I access my own ntlworld email account?

    Hi EVB1571,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

We are very sorry, however we'd be unable to support getting access to the email account if you're not the registered account holder.

We can only do this with the account holder directly.

If they are able to contact us, we'd be happy to assist in ensuring access to all linked mailboxes.

We're sorry for any inconvenience caused.

      Tuning in

      Thanks Vikki_M.

Unfortunately the ultimate account holder is my ex husband, whom I’ve had no contact with for 10 years +.

what options do I have to have my own account?

      Many thanks

        Hi EVB_15,

We are very sorry, however if the email is registered to an account not in your name, they would be the registered owner of the mailbox. We would recommend to set up a third party email account such as Gmail etc.

We are sorry, we appreciate this isn't the answer you were hoping for, however for security reasons there is nothing we can do unfortunately if the email is registered to someone else.

If you have any further questions, please pop back to us and we'd be happy to help.
