IMAP Not working in Outlook for VM

I had the same problem a couple of days ago. No Outlook on the laptop W11  but working on mobile.

Spoke with VM chargeable tech department & after a couple of hours of them messing around & deleting some of my apps the response was just wait.

I only found out when it stopped working that I was meant to be using a 4 word password generated by VM which still didn't work (I had been using my old password for years) apparently they started this a few years.

I found a solution eventually by clearing my cache (browsing history) uninstall Outlook & reinstall & getting a fresh password from the VM site after a few tries I was back.

A word of warning MS has a site to download Classic Outlook, it doesn't it downloads MS365+Office  with a free trial. If you install it & then uninstall if you had office apps it removes them as well.

I use a ntlworld email a/c.
