  • Working again now. I'd be interested to know why Gareth thinks this is due to an Apple or Microsoft update?

That would mean that everyone with an apple or microsoft mail app would have problems. How come then my wifes email is ok and mine isnt , both on apple devices.

VM just passing the blame along. It's a problem on their end, not MS or Apple. No accountability for their trash e-mail system.

  • I didn't see all the other forum posts about this issue. My email is working again. This seems strangly random if the problem is due to an Apple or Microsoft update?

It does seem a little odd, presumably VM are claiming that both Apple and Microsoft(?) made a change with broke only VM email addresses and users and nobody else. In addition some users are claiming similar problems with Android devices, so presumably both Google and Samsung made the same changes at the same time. Which is a remarkable coincidence.

      What do you think?

  • P.S. does this problem just affect ntlworld and not virginmedia email accounts? If so why?

  • Same problem here. Out of interest I wonder how many people still use an ntlworld email address? One would hope large companies like Virgin would contact Apple or Microsoft to at least report the issue rather than expecting their customers to do this? I had this problem last night. Today it has been fine until now. Same problem again.

  • Hello Marypie

Thanks for your first post, and welcome to our community.

We do have an issue right now with viewing emails through an email client.

Apple and Microsoft have recently updated their settings. which in turn has deemed customers' email addresses as unsecure.

This is beyond our control, and as long as you can view your emails through our home page here Or alternatively, you will need to contact Apple support or Microsoft.

I imagine the many people posting about this issue on here would find it very helpful if VM published a statement on what exactly the issue is and what (if anything) can be done about it (both short term and long term).
