Having problems changing alternative email address for my virgin media email account .

A few days ago my partner’s VM email account stopped receiving emails and showed an error message implying that there was a problem with either email address or password.
Decided that easiest solution was to change password and that is where things deteriorated. The account is in my name and I have a ntlworld email address and she has a virgin media one.

In the past to change a password you went into my account where both email addresses were listed, clicked the appropriate one and made change.

Now she had to create a new email address with another server, luckily she has an iCloud account, so enter those details.  This is where things have become complicated. She received email from Virgin Media confirming the change and verified the email address. We have been getting emails to new address BUT when she tries to change the password on the web page for security and sign in details she gets informed that she had requested the email address to be a similar one but with one number missing. Have checked with Apple and that address is not available so someone is feeling very confused.

She is finding it very difficult to correct the email address especially as she keeps being sent to my account.

Can someone set out step by step instructions on how to correct this.  Strangely we are still getting emails to correct address, the latest being 13.13 this pm.

thomas93  I think that you will need assistance from the VM Forum Team to correct the mistake in the third party email address that has been registered for the virginmedia email address.  They should respond to this thread shortly.

  • Hello thomas93.

We're sorry to hear about the issues you're having with the email account, thanks for bringing this to our attention as well. It should be an easy fix from here.

So I can have a look and get this resolved, I'll need to send you a private message to pass security.
If you can check the logo at the  top right of your screen that would be great.

That would be correct thomas93. If you look at the to right of your device, you will see a circle with a question mark inside. You should also see one to the right of that.

The last private message from you asked for the new email address to be used for signing into my partner’s email account which I gave.  My partner tried to sign in using the new email address and she was informed that the email address was still as before ie missing one digit.

Can you let me know current situation.  Many thanks

  • On Tuesday I posted a problem my partner was having with her virgin media email account and which received help from Gareth L. Using pms I gave him necessary account info and the last pm I received asked for alternate email address she wanted to use.  This I gave but have heard nothing since as to whether it was successful.
She has tried several times to sign in but keeps getting told that the signing in email was the incorrect one.  I would mention that my email address is an ntlworld one.

Now I have a problem with my email account.  I seem to be able to receive emails but not send them. We have been using an email address with a different server to send me emails and then I tried sending out emails back.

Grateful if a member of Virgin Media Community Support could let me know current situation.

      Thanks for replying Thomas.

It sounds like your details are saved on your browser. If you're using Chrome, please try opening a private webpage. It's the CTRL button plus SHIFT and then N at the same time.

With your email fault is this happening on webmail or through a client like Outlook?
