Getting Virgin emails through Outlook

I know many people have this problem but I'm just going round in circles. I use Outlook for 3 different emails and it all worked fine until a couple of weeks ago, then the Virgin email just froze. I contacted Virgin & the first person I spoke to was fairly helpful & helped me generate a password so I could use my A/C. He then said I'd need to speak to his technical team for more help. I was passed onto them, but they said there was nothing they could do & I'd need to go to the "Gadget Rescue team" who have a No Fix, No Fee policy.
I do not want to pay for something that was fine before Virgin changed everything, so I fiddled around and managed to get my Virgin email onto the new Outlook. It worked fine for a couple of days & has now stopped receiving emails again. I am getting a box come up approximately every couple of minutes asking me to enter my username & password, but nothing I do is working. I can't get anything to work & every time I close or cancel the box, it returns soon afterwards.
Is there a way to sort this out, once & for all in a SIMPLE way. My brain is totally frazzled & i feel like throwing the computer out of the window!! I need an Idiots Guide, if such a thing exists!

All that is saying is the Outlook cannot access your VM email account and unfortunately there are so many possible reasons for that it is impossible to give a simple "idiots Guide" to solving it.

The most obvious one is there is an issue with the password stored in the settings of Outlook so it would be an idea to check that first by generating a new one.

Sign into the My Virgin Media (MVM) account for the email concerned - use this link https://www.virginmedia.com/myvmo2   and enter the VMO2 ID for the email account. That could be the VM address itself or the email address of the non VM email account (perhaps a Gmail account) that you have already linked to your VM email account. (If you have not already done so then you will be prompted to create a VM02 ID for your VM account.)

Once you have accessed the MVM account:
    Select Account Settings
    Select Identity & Security Settings
    Select Manage your products
    Select Manage email app password
Click on the blue button 'Get New Password' - it will be in the format "word-word-word-word"

That 4 word password will become the new VM password to use in Outlook but the password you use to sign into your VM account online will not be changed.

You will need to update the password in the settings in Outlook to specify that new 4 word password including the hyphens.

If that does not work you are going to have to give a lot more information I'm afraid.

For a start, it would be useful to know whether you can access your VM email account directly using the VM webmail service because the problem may be with the account itself not Outlook. Try that from here https://mail2.virginmedia.com/ Again you will need to  enter the VM02 Id for your email account.
