Forbidden access

Without notice my gmail act (that I had to create last year) to receive my virgin ntlworld emails is now telling me I am forbidden. I would get into these emails through myvirgin media but now can’t. I have set up an O2 password but that isn’t helping and I have no idea how to get help. I cannot find the customer service page and am completely lost. Can anyone from Virgin help me please?

It would be useful if you can clarify whether you are saying that:

      Hello,

I had to create a gmail act to replace my ntlworld act and accessed this gmail act through my virgin media account where I could see all my old emails and any new email together. This “inbox” is holding all of my old gmail emails and I now cannot get into it. When I go into my virgin media and try to sign on I receive a forbidden screen. I can access new gmail email through google but cannot see anything before this issue. It seems that if I log into virgin media the virgin server holds my emails and doesn’t share them with google so they are only accessible through virgin which I am locked out of.

      sorry if this is logwinded!

Thanks for coming bach with some more information.

"the virgin server holds my emails and doesn’t share them with google so they are only accessible through virgin"

Quite right, Your have set up your Gmail address as the username for you VM account. Unless you have set up an autoforward or an IMAP/SMTP  setting in your Gmail account there is no other link between your Gmail account and your VM email account.

"accessible through virgin which I am locked out of.

That's the bit that is key, so you are seeing the" 403 Forbidden" error when you try to sign into your VM email account.

The "403 Forbidden" error message usually means that there has been an issue with VM authenticating your email details.

When you get that error, the way to resolve it is to generate a new  Mail app password for that  VM account.

To do that sign into the My Virgin Media (MVM) Account for thatVM  email account.  Use this link https://www.virginmedia.com/myvmo2  and enter your Gmail address as the username and then the password you use to sign into your VM email account.

        Then

        1. Select Account Settings
        2. Select Identity & Security Settings
        3. Select Manage your products
        4. Select Manage email app password
        5. Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'

Leave it a few minutes before tryingto sign into your VM email account with your Gmail address.
