Email Problems

Yesterday I managed to get my emails working on iPad and iPhone following the help provided by Graham A.  This morning, I tried to get my emails working on two desktop computers, an iMac and a Windows 10, using the password generated yesterday but without any luck.  Do you have to generate a new password for each computer you are using?

Why on earth do we even have to set up new passwords? Has it forgotten who we are? Mail works fine on my phone with the old password but not on my laptop. Why is that? This has now happened 3 times as far as I remember and the problem has always been on the server side. I keep having to generate new passwords for no apparent reason or notification and even then things struggle to work normally again. And no notification from Virgin to its user whatsoever during this whole process. Ridiculous.

  • After three days (and lots of repeat attempts) with no email (as the old password was not recognised by Virgin, to allow the creation of a VMO2 account ), my wife got through and it was sorted a mere two hours after dialling the Virgin 150 line. She'd had to set up a throw away email account prior to this, as that was the only way to get verification.

Can someone point me to the advise on how to get virginmedia email working again in outlook

I have not changed password at all but outlook won't authenticate when I add VM account as a new account having deleted it

At the moment I have set up VM mails to forward to another email address

No, you use the same password for each mailbox.  You may have to remove the existing "connection" and set it up again from scratch.  The old passwords may be cached on the devices, so a clean setup should remove this old information.

Thank you so much, worked on both desktops.  I can now get on and do something productive.
