Might we be told what the cause was please ?
It caused considerable inconvenience and an explanation is appropriate.
Not sure about others but I spent a considerable amount of my time trying to resolve it at my end and no doubt others did the same.

Its all sorted now, normal service was resumed shortly after the crash which seemed service wide.
Why was this? It came up with the suggestion there had been a data breach and to change the password. However even that was not possible, not just for myself but all others experienced the same issue too.
Virginmedia email is being run down, step by step. Many email accounts have already been closed down, and the faults that happen with the remaining accounts show that the service is not being properly maintained.
Find yourself a more reliable email service with another provider.
