Email address not valid

I've had my ntlworld.com.address for over 20 years and until recently have had no problem signing in to Virgin media mail. Now when I try it says the email address is not valid. I get monthly bills sent to this address and various other emails. I've tried numerous ways to try and resolve this to no avail. Any ideas would be welcome.
