Email accounts have been closed

Hi,

After almost 30 years my Virgin email account has been closed without any notification. Having read some of the forums, it looks like VM might have closed them as I don't have a VM account anymore, but I need to access it again as I am currently waiting for some important information.

Are VM able to reinstate my email so I can get this information?

    VM has been closing a lot of mailboxes recently if they are not linked to a current VM broadband account. Some have received a 30 day warning, other have been closed with no warning. VM's replies on here have typically been a 'no' on reinstating temporary access to recover data.

    It may be a case of making your own luck in determining what happens after the mailbox is nominally closed.

    I'm sorry to hear about the issues with the email you're having.
    Any accounts that haven't had an active broadband linked to them, has bene shut down as of 2 November 2024.

    We sent email communications out to everyone from early October.
    Is your email linked to a broadband account?

      Hi,

      No, my email is no longer attached to an active broadband but it has been one of my main email addresses since i got it 30 years ago. I have had no email to let me know it was being shut down which is terrible customer service. To just lose access to import emails and contcts is not acceptable .
