Email account disappeared

I can no longer access my Blueyonder email account.  I am no longer a virgin media account holder.  My account was cancelled last year.  I have continued to access my email account right up until 18/4/25 when I was denied access with my login details.   The email account is still live somewhere as I and other family members have sent messages to the address and they have not bounced back.  I have so much important information stored in my inboxes  relating to holidays, event tickets verification coding with various hospitals etc. I really need to be able to access the account and transfer the information to my now new email address I have had to set up with gmail.  I was a customer with Virgin for nearly 40years and have only ever had email with blueyonder since they were set up.   I desperatly need help to resolve this issue.  I have rang customer services a number of times and been directed to this site as a solution.

    VM are actively closing down email accounts that are not linked to a VM broadband account. It sounds like your account is in that process.  A VM person might pick this up and offer to help, but don't rely on it.

    Have you no backups of your important documentss?  Free emails are not meant to be safe permanent filing cabinets.

    Virgin Media email accounts are  meant to be closed  90 days after your broadband is disconnected, that's in line with VM's broadband contract.

    If you cannot access the account but do not get any non delivery messages back it does sound as if VM are in the process of closing your account down in line with their contract. 

    Sadly, if it's more than 90 days since the broadband account was closed all VM staff can do is make sure the account is completely closed. They cannot do anything to allow you to access the account I'm afraid which is probably why the phone support line referred you to this community forum.

    You are not the first to be in this situation, we've seen this many many times and the outcome is very bleak for your account. I cannot give you any hope of regaining access  I'm afraid.

    One of the VM staff who support this forum will contact via this thread so you will have to see what they say.

    We're very sorry to hear about your email address. 

    As confirmed by the users of this community. Any email address should have been shut down 90 days after having a non Virgin Media broadband account. 

    We do appreciate this has happened at a later point but we would be unable to re-activate the email address.
