Email account closed without notice

I am unable to access my email account. I was not advised this would happen & I have an active VM account including TV/broadband/phone. After 1hr & 25 minutes on the phone I was advised that I needed to change my email address. I did this & the verification email was received & responded to but I am still unable to log on & I only have the option to resend the message for verification which has been responded to 3 times now.

    Welcome to the Community Forums. 

    Sorry to hear of your concern with accessing your email. If you have a Virgin Media, NTLword, or Blueyonder email address as your login email, this will need to change to a third-party email, such as Gmail or Outlook. Are you sending this verification email to your Virgin Media-owned email or a new third-party email?

      I was using a 3rd party email address. I have since called 150 & managed to verify a Gmail email address & it is still not working. A ticket has now been raised as I was advised that action now needs to be taken by VM to reactivate my email account. I have still, however, not received an explanation as to why my email account was closed without prior notification. I understand that accounts will be closed if a customer ceases a VM broadband account but I have broadband service. I will not be in a position to gauge how detrimental this will be until I find out what emails I have been unable to access but I would appreciate an explanation as to why my account was stopped without warning. One of the main reasons I have continued my VM services & not sought another provider is the inevitable problems caused by changing my email address. If VM cannot provide me a reliable service or I am forced to change my email address I intend to take my business elsewhere.

    If your email account is linked to your Virginmedia account, there is no reason why you should be losing it right now. You just need to find a way through the access minefield that VM have created. 

    But since VM are clearly set on running down their email service you would be well advised to move to your Gmail account now, before it really does stop.
