Credentials required for secondary email address even though no changes made
Hi
Seen similar posts elsewhere on the forum and have tried following those posted solutions to no avail. When I log in to my secondary email account through myvirginmedia, it asks me to change my email address to a non-virginmedia email address (I have already done this for my primary virgin account) but when I try to do so it says I have recently changed it and need to verify the change - I have done that and myprimary account works fine including emails but I cannot get past this stage for my secondary email account.
I presume it doesn't have to be a different 3rd party email address to my primary account so not sure why it thinks it is not verified as it wouldn't work on my primary account if it wasn't.
Any help greatly appreciated as I m now without these emails for 4 weeks and am in need of getting access asap.
Kind regards
Rick
There are no secondary email anymore, so EVERY mailbox now needs a separate 3rd party email address and a new four word VM generated app password. So if you had 4 mailboxes, you now need 4 3rd party email addresses etc. It's all in the name of security, and you can't use the same 3rd party email address.
Try following these steps to see if a password reset allows access:
Sign in to My Virgin Media with the old "secondary" email address, this should prompt you to use a 3rd party email address. Once this new 3rd party email address is verified you use it.
Go to Account settings, then Account details
Tap Manage next to Manage your Virgin Media Mail app password under Virgin Media Mail
Then, under Virgin Media Mail app password tap Get password
Continue the flow and a new secure password will be generated, and the mailbox unlocked
Update any third-party apps that may be use to access your Virgin Media Mail emails with this new app password.
