"If I try to send a blueyonder email from my laptop it just goes into my drafts folder."
That sounds as if you are using the VM webmail service on the VM website to send from your laptop. Can you confirm whether are you using \vm webmail or an email app or client such as Outlook on your laptop?
"From my phone, there's no problem"
Can you confirm if you are using your home wifi or your phone's mobile data network to go online when you send emails from your phone?

I'm using the new version of Outlook as an email client for both my blueyonder and gmail accounts on my laptop. Blueyonder isn't working, but gmail works fine. (Blueyonder I can get only via virgin webmail on my laptop)
With Android on my phone it's fine both via wifi and when using my phone's mobile data network.

Thanks for coming back with that information.
As you are probably aware there have been lots of issues reported with the new Outlook.
A common problem is that emails do not get sent but simply move to the drafts folder. If the VM webmail service and the app on your phone can send Blueyonder emails without any problem it does suggest the problem lies with something in Outlook.
The first thing is to check the Blueyonder account settings in Outlook. I have listed the correct settings at the bottom of this post.
The second thing is to look at this post on the Microsoft Forum. This is one of the many posts there from people using variety of different email services that have had the same problem as you with emails going to the Outlook Draft folder.
The reply to that post suggests running some checks and if you cannot resolve it then it details how to contact Microsoft Support.
Personally I gave up using Outlook quite a while ago and I currently use the open source email client Thunderbird.
However, as I said earlier,I would first check the Blueyonder settings in Outlook:
IMAP settings for all VM email domains:
Host name: imap.virginmedia.com
Username: your full Virgin Media email address
Password: your Virgin Media email app password
Advanced settings SSL encryption: Enabled
Port: 993 (this may be automatically chosen by selecting SSL encryption)SMTP settings for all VM email domains:
Host name: smtp.virginmedia.com
Username: your full Virgin Media email address
Password: your Virgin Media email app password
SSL encryption: Enabled
Port: 465 (this might not be selected automating by enabling SSL, so please check)
Authentication: PasswordSorry I cannot help more than that.
