Can't access my ntlworld.com e-mail

Hi, I went into my laptop to access my e-mails to be informed that i needed to sign in to my account. after trying to do so by entering the e-mail address and password i get a message saying 'something went wrong with your account. please try again' I tried logging into my VM account on the webpage to be told that the e-mail address doesn't exist. I have been a VM customer for many years.

    If you are using an email app or client to access your emails you are likely to need an app password, especially if you changed your password when signing into the VMO2 ID.

    To create an email app password or update an existing one you need to follow these steps:

    Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID

    Select Account Settings

    Select Identity & Security Settings

    Select Manage your products

    Select Manage email app password

    Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'

    Make a note of the generated password. This is what you use in the mail apps along with the vm email address as the username.

  • Can't offer a solution but from today have exactly the same for my ntlworld a/c. Normally have auto-sign in on web browser but accidentally logged off and going round in circles trying to log back in.
    Spent a lot of time on Facebook VM group messaging with a person trying to help but has not been able to offer a solution.
    Did manage to log in via verify another way which sent a code to my phone, changed the VM-O2 password but new one not accepted either.
    Not helped by, to me, the baffling VM-O2 logons and passwords and those needed for email where now need another email server and a/c to login. I can no longer use ntlworld email for main login since O2 merger.

    Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. 

    This sounds like you've not yet created your VM O2 ID. 

    To create this, please head to our website - virg.in/myVM

    Then sign in with your My Virgin Media online account username. 

    Then follow the prompts to sign up for the ID and then you'll have access to your emails :).

      Hi John,
      i have tried that and get the following message

      This Virgin Media email address isn’t valid
      You've tried to sign up with an invalid Virgin Media email address.
      Check you’ve entered the address correctly and try again. Alternatively, sign up with a different email address.

        Thanks for coming back to us Allister1, and we're sorry for the ongoing issues that you're experiencing. Is the email address that you've been using to log in to your account still active? I ask this as you can use the email address to log in to your online account without it still being active. Have you tried to create your account using an alternative email address?
