Can no longer access Virgin email account

I have recently changed over to SKY (25 March).. my email account appears to have been deactivated despite being notified it would take 90 days. I got no prior warning of immediate closure and I need to access it to pull off important emails. Can anyone help please? Thanks

    Sorry to hear you have recently left our services for an alternative provider, and lost access to your email service. 

    The timeframe this can take can vary - anywhere up to or exceeding 90 days, so sincerest apologies this has happened sooner than expected! You can read a bit more about email closure here 👉 https://www.virginmedia.com/help/broadband/email-account-closure 

    Once the account has disconnected it means the email address has no active parent account and so cannot be restored. Sincerest apologies for any frustration or inconvenience caused!

      Why though.. surely it shouldn’t have been closed right away or I should have been told this?

        Hi Gailk, 

        Thanks for coming back to us on this one. Once the Virgin Media account is closed, we don't have a way of restoring access I'm afraid. 

        When you've logged into My VM, and clicked on Virgin Media mail, what page is displayed? It should load your emails for you. If not, let us know what error you're getting. We may be able to offer some help however as you've advised the Virgin Media account is disconnected, we will be very limited in what we can do to help.

      Both and yes I can still sign into my Virgin media .. can anything be done? Surely u should have been told it would be closed immediately?

        Are you able to send an email to the email address that appears to have been deleted? 

        FYI  if email account has been fully deleted then a message should be received stating mailbox is unknown, or similar message

    This is troubling as the Virgin Media account has not been closed, i.e. can successfully sign into My Virgin Media but the email address
