Blueyonder emails being treated as Spam by Gmail

Since August, any of my blueyonder emails that I send to Gmail recipients, are diverted to their spam folders or not received at all.  The same problem occured last year about the same time. Why is this happening? As the pastor of a small church, this is causing major issues for the people I need to communicate with.

  • I do have a workaround for this, but it does involve the gmail user to create a filter which states that your blueyonder email address never gets sent to spam. This is fine if you just have a few friends as they can do this in less than 1 minute but obviously it won't really work if you don't know the gmail users.

I've been trying to get help from the gmail support community and we did discover this. They're adamant that it's an issue on the Virgin Media side.

This issue is still not resolved.  It took months last year to get Virgin Media to sort the issue out with Gmail following my complaints.

I have a VM blueyonder email account and a Gmail account and if I send an email from my Blueyonder address to my Gmail address, it goes straight into Gmail spam.

I pastor a small church and many members have Gmail accounts, as well as my many other contacts.  If I want to ensure everyone gets my emails, I have to send it once from my blueyonder account so that non Gmail folks get it, and then again from my Gmail account to Gmail recipients.

Some of my Gmail recipients have tried mrking my blueyonder emails as NOT spam, but they still end up in the spam folder.

The problem got worse recently when emails from other Gmail accounts to my blueyonder account, started going into my blueyonder spam folder.

This is such a time waster and nobody seems able to resolve the issue.

This has been going on for weeks without being resolved (despite myself and others receiving private messages from the Forum Team). It is clear that it can only be resolved at a high level between Virgin and Google (who are deliberately putting every message from blueyonder.co.uk into gmail spam folders).

  • Hello NeilR4.

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our Community.

Sorry to hear your Bl; Blueyonder emails are being recognised as Spam.

We were made aware of this, and everything should now be resolved.

Can we just ask if you're still having the same issue?

This has most definitely NOT been resolved. Look at the separate long-running thread with the title "Blueyonder email to gmail goes to spam" (which I am part of). You will see there a large number of people still suffering from this problem, and many (like myself) send test emails to gmail from blueyonder every day.

So please don't annoy us all by saying it's resolved when you clearly haven't looked at the main discussion.

        Hi mikes2400 šŸ‘‹.

Thanks for reaching out to us, sorry to hear of the issues you are facing with your emails going to your Spam folder. So that we can assist you we would need to bring you in for a private message, please look out for the envelope on the top right of your web browser or if you are using a mobile device, it will be located under your profile icon.

        Thanks.

Gareth_L I have just tested and Gmail are still treating blueyonder emails as spam.  What evidence do you have that this has been resolved between VM and Gmail?

Yes that was an interesting post on the Google Help Community forum.

However if you scroll through to what I think is still the last reply on that thread it says:

That March 10th post makes some very good points and there seems to have been no reply to the two questions it raises.

Unfortunately the cause of this lies firmly with Google/Gmail.  Any email that contains the phrase blueyonder.co.uk is being treated as spam by Gmail regardless of the domain it is sent from.

Thank you Graham_A. There is a long-running thread with the title "Blueyonder email to gmail goes to spam" (which I am part of). Three separate members of the Forum Team have promised recently to investigate and report back - but none of them have done that.

So what are we supposed to do? Will the problem never be solved?
