Exactly 30 days to cancel minimum term contract lies

My 18 month contract ends in may. I called today to inform them I won't renew it. However after speaking to two different people both kept saying I need to call back exactly 30 days before my minimum term ends.

I know this isn't true but they would not listen. I recorded the call and will share with ofcom. 

I will write a letter to cancel as calling is pointless

    I called today to give an early notice of my minimum term ending in May. I was told I have to call again with 30 days remaining.

    I will report this to OFCOM and this just shows the type of company Virgin media are.
