VM quick fix pods are a risk at lest the hubs was more well tested not to be a fire hazard

  • Hi scotty500

Welcome to our community forums and thank you for your first post. Sorry to hear you experienced this with your WiFi pod. We can understand your concern and want to do our best to look into this. We want to assure you that your safety matters to us. To best look into this we have sent you a private message. Please keep an eye out for an envelope at the top right corner of your Forum page. Let me know if you have any issues locating this.

    Thanks,

  • I have also recently smelled burning and since noticed a black burn line going up my wall coming from your intelligent wifi pods. Virgin what do you suppose I do? Bearing in mind this is in a well ventilated area. Surely this is not safe? If my house burned down would you be responsible? All these posts about your wifi pods burning walls and yet you haven’t recalled them? I think I would have a strong case.

Technically should your house burn down in the night and the cause were to be determined as being the Pod, then, yes VM would be accountable and if anyone were to die then, in theory VM executives could go to prison.

In reality though, none of this will happen.

Unplug the pod, it obviously isn’t safe, replace it with something of your own, some third party solution with a good reputation.

And when the time comes when you need to renegotiate your contract with VM or go elsewhere, please do bear this in mind.
