Wifi Not Visible On Devices

Just recently I have experienced a problem with my 'main' Virgin network not being visible on some devices e.g. Sonos/printer. Phone and tablet work fine with it.

I do have powerline adaptors which I believe have a separate network (I don't understand the technicalities of this so excuse me if I've got this wrong). This network is visible and I have been able to connect Sonos to it and it works but not printer.

Any thoughts on what is going on here please? Is it faulty Virgin hardware or an issue with devices set up?

Thanks

We have seen a similar situation where just some devices stopped connecting to the VM Hub Wi-Fi and as you mention stopped listing the VM Hub SSID as an available service.

In our case it was the VM Hub that had chosen to operate the 2.4GHz band on Channel 13.

Channels 1 or 6 or 11 are preferred and most compatible, often equipment that is also supplied to the USA market does not support Wi-Fi on Channel 13 of the 2.4GHz band.

If this is the issue, set the 2.4GHz band to manual and to Channel 1 or 6 or 11.

Remember to manage the VM Hub via a network cable as changing the Wi-Fi settings over Wi-Fi usually ends up with the admin session disconnecting or locking you out.

Thanks for your response. I don't really have the technical skills to do what you suggest. Anyway I restarted the hub and now it is visible on the devices. I am pretty sure I had done this previously (before posting) as it is the obvious thing to do.

I do find it strange that the 'powerline adaptor' SSID was visible to some devices but not the hub SSID.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
