Wifi extender not working after new Hub

I had a new Hub installed a few weeks ago as the old one had broken..Since then the wifi extender I have used previously does not work (not a Virgin supplied one.) because it needs to be reset to the new VM hub name and password.  I have tried doing this via an ethernet cable and remotely but haven't cracked it yet.     The wifi strength provided by the Hub is insufficient in some rooms now.  Am looking for suggestions as to how to fix this.   Thanks.

What is the make and model of your extender?  Have you tried a factory reset on it? Most extenders have a built in web server for admin use and configuration.

  • Thanks for replying.  It's a COMFAST - WR3025.  I've kept trying with it and managed to get to the log-in page and thought I'd got it sorted however it won't now let anything connect to the internet. I looks like it  has then drops out and keeps asking for a WPA2 password.  If i've understood this correctly the VM hub uses WPA3 so I wonder if that is the problem i.e. the router is too out of date and insecure?

In VM Hub menu Wireless section, set the Security to WPA2-PSK only on both Wi-Fi bands
and see if that helps the COMFAST - WR3025 to connect.
