Could you advise whether it is normal for a WiFi extender to get hot, make a loud buzzing noise and give off a strange smell. We have unplugged this one, but have another two.
Do you advise that they are switched off intermittently?

That you have 3 suggests these could be VM Pods.
Any signs of abnormal heat and or noise,
turn off & unplug the Pod / Extender off ASAP and request VM replace it.
Do not dispose of the defective unit.
VM may demand its return at any time in the future and attempt to bill if it can not be provided.
