Wi-Fi - Connection Failed (ethernet is working fine)

Hi team

A few days ago the Wi-Fi on our router stopped working. I tried powering off, waiting and restarting but still nothing. My phone would see the connection, but when I tried to connect, I got a message "Connection Failed". No other wireless devices would connect either (we have a few in our home). My PC is connected via ethernet and that works flawlessly.

At the time of the failure, I logged into the hub and changed the wireless mode to 802.11b/g/n mixed. This seemed to resolve the issue (although, before the failure, the previous setting was working on all devices). Forward a few days later to today and, even with the above setting set, the Wi-Fi has stopped working again.

The router does state it's on, but also shows that no devices are connected.

I've seen a post in the forum where somebody had a similar problem and a remote test showed that the router power levels were low. The solution was provided via PM.

Please can you help?

Thanks in advance

Dave

  • Hey DBristoll, thank you for reaching out and I am so sorry to hear this.

  • Hi, I'm having the same issue. It's frustrating to search the web and find a post which describes your problem, only to find that it's been fixed behind closed doors.

Can the solution be posted here so that other people searching can find it, or does it need to be dealt with on a case by case basis?

      Hi JamesAutton 👋

Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Forums.

I'm very sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your Broadband. Can you expand further on the problems you're facing, and we'll do our best to assist further?

Do you see any lights on your Hub at the moment?

      Cheers,

  • Hi Reece,

Thanks for getting back to me. On this occasion, rebooting the router solved the issue. I also had to reconnect to the wifi network manually on my Android device once the router finished booted up.
