Whistling Wi-Fi Pod

I have the 1GB Volt broadband package and have two Wi-Fi pods, as the signal around the home without them has been historically poor.  The pods do the job very well.

A year or so ago, one of the pods started getting very hot and making a whistling noise.  The other one by contrast was silent and not hot.

One of the kindly Virgin staff on this forum arranged for a replacement one to be sent to me, and that one was fine.

However, I now have the same issue and one of them is overheating and whistling.  I have unplugged it as a precaution.

Would I be able to have a replacement again, or do I need to go through to VM directly?  I would rather avoid that route if possible.

Thanks very much

As this is a Community Forum, and not a direct line to VM as such, it will take a day or two for a VM Mod to pick this up.  If you need is urgent, it would be best to phone Customer Services directly.

That is no problem - thank you - I will be happy to wait on here.

    Cheers

      Hi markfranklin,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐
We're sorry to hear the second pod is hot to touch and is giving off a whistling noise. We'll need to get this reported up to the relevant teams. In order to do that I'll need to confirm some information with you to pass security.

I've sent you a direct message to allow us to do this with you in a private space. Just click on the little ✉ at the top right-hand side of the page to access your inbox. :)

      Many thanks,

I am so sorry to reach out again with this.  I have had a letter from VM saying they have logged the faulty Pod as a Complaint (a reference number is provided) and want to talk to me.

They have given me 0345 454 1111 to ring.  I listen to a load of blurb and then I have to say what the call is about, to which I clearly say "Complaint".  It then says - OK let's get you some help with your bill - do you need help understanding you bill?  etc.

I have tried this several times and it continues to interpret the word "Complaint" as "Bill", so I can't get through to the team.

Do you have any clues or is there a number that goes straight to the right team?

Thanks so much for the guidance.

Unfortunately not, you just have to suffer the AI bot ...

Same as before, if you wait here a day or two hopefully a VM Mod will pick this up and support you again.
