Virgin Media Fibre Up Web shows Gig2, chat and package shows 1?? What's going on here

Hi all, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
I was checking availability at my address, and Virgin Media’s own website clearly shows Gig2 (up to 2Gbps) is available (see screenshot attached).

However, when I spoke to the live chat sales team, they insisted the maximum available at my address is Gig1.

Bit confused — is the website wrong, or is Sales just not offering Gig2 for some reason? I’d prefer to go for the faster tier if it’s genuinely available.

Would appreciate any clarification from Virgin Media staff or anyone who’s actually managed to order Gig2 recently.

      Sorry to hear of the confusion caused by the 2Gbps service being offered online, but not with the agents when discussing your account. 

      Just to confirm, do you have a residential account or a business account with us?

    You may not like 2Gb and hub 5x no modem mode its likely your house is wired for Docsis so 1Gb is the max.

  • Are you already a customer on the legacy Docsis network? If so I am in a similar situation whereby the website shows Gig2 now being available to new customers at my postcode in Cardiff (owing to the Project Mustang upgrade programme) but my own account only shows Gig1. As it happens Volt 250 is plenty for me for the time being but an interesting development.
