Upgrading hub and mixing wifi pods

Hi

I have M500 Volt broadband with a Hub 3 router and two black Wifi Pods. I have just ordered a thrird black wifi pod to boost speed/reliability in my bedroom.

Virgin say I can only upgrade my Hub3 to a Hub5 if I upgrade to 1Gig speed service - which I don't want to do.  So I just bought a Hub5 off Ebay (new and unused).

Q1 - can I just swap out my Hub3 for the Hub5?  Will it work straight away, or do I need to contact VM to change some settings?

Q3 - wondering about adding more wifi pods also, but I will now have 3 bacl pods and that is the most that VM will provide.  So I wondered about buying additional VM wifi pods from Ebay - either black or white ones.  If I bought a white one, would it work OK with my Hub5 and my BLACK wifi pods?  Not sure whether you can mix white and black ones on the same home network?

Any advice welcome!

Thanks, Nick

"So I just bought a Hub5 off Ebay (new and unused)." stolen equipment, return it. All VM equipment is rented, none can be purchased. All hubs are assigned to one account only, so you can never use another one without VM doing the reassignment which they will not do for stolen equipment.

I don't read what Hub 3 issues the Hub 5 is supposed to fix.
Hopefully it is not the wish for Wi-Fi 6 which is quite problematic on the Hub 5.

For me the biggest drawback would be the VM Pods especially if they are being used as Wi-Fi Repeaters and not cable connected as Wi-Fi Access Points.
