Unknown Samsung device connected to Wi-Fi

I noticed a while ago an unknown Samsung device showing as connected on 2.4G at a very low speed on my hub 5 so I changed the Wi-Fi password and it's still connected, every other device disconnected, how can this unknown device still be connected after changing the password?

    Problem sorter

These things are usually a matter of continuing the process of elimination.

Are you certain you don't have such a Samsung device in your household?

Maybe a watch connected to your phone?  A TV?

Is it connected via Ethernet rather than WiFi?  Connected via a Pod or other WiFi extender?

Can you run an ARP scan and determine the MAC address, then look that up?  See if there are any more specifics about it?

  • Hi adish11 👋.

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community Forums. Apologies for the issues you are having with a unrecognised device. Samsung not only have their only branded devices but also their components are also found in other devices that may be under another name but their networking processing parts are Samsung. You can check the Mac address of this device alongside a address look up on Google or the label on the device should have the Mac address on there making it identifiable.

If you are facing difficulties, please let us know and we can bring you into a private message and assist with the device address. Please look out for the envelope on the top right of your web browser or if you are using a mobile device, it will be located under your profile icon.

    Thanks.
