I fear this has never been resolved as I am experiencing the same problem as everyone else. Is it possible to disable SSID Broadcasting the option is greyed out in Hub3?
Hello minime_0
Thanks for your firat post and welcome to our community.
Sorry to hear the SSID broadcasting is greyed out.
Our hubs are designed to allow Channel optimization along side our Connect App.
If you log in to the hub setting again, You can untick Channel optimization to remove the greyed out sections for SSID.
This is something that we don't recommend though as it may have a detrimental effect on the hubs WIFI and connected devices.

Hello Gareth_L
As the person who first started this thread, I'm afraid your advice doesn't work. I've just tried it on my Hub 3 and it doesn't work, as it didn't work previously when this was given to me as a solution. This is one of the many things VM have suggested to me will work but it doesn't.

Hi Alan_H 👋
I'm sorry to hear you're continuing to experience issues with this. I've done some searching in the background over the past few days with different teams to get a solid answer. Below is the solution provided, and some information I've received:
1. Go to “Advanced Settings” -> Security”2. Under the 2.4GHz Wireless Security Settings, select “No” under WiFi Network Name (SSID)
3. Then scroll to the bottom to save the change by clicking “Apply Settings”
4. This would disable both the 2.4 and 5GHz assuming both have the same SSID.
Note the 5GHz may be greyed out. This is normal if the SSID for the 2.4 and 5GHz bands are the same, so just disabling 2.4GHz through the guidance above would disable the 5GHz.
If the 2.4 and 5GHz SSIDs are different, then repeat the above steps under the 5GHz section on the same page.
If both the 2.4 and 5Ghz are greyed out when viewing your settings, then please be aware that this is a known bug which is due to be fixed in a future firmware release for the Hub 3.
At the time, I wouldn't be able to advise on when this firmware release is due to be pushed to the network.

Maybe, the only way you can truly understand the concern / problem of peeps regarding disabling the SSID Broadcasting on the HUB 3 is to actually follow the steps yourself outlined in your own 'solution' ( on a HUB 3 ) and see if you can successfully achieve this !
As you state : ' If both the 2.4 and 5Ghz are greyed out when viewing your settings, then please be aware that this is a known bug which is due to be fixed in a future firmware release for the Hub 3.' They are always 'greyed out', it doesn't require days of consultation & research with 'different teams' to know this !
The 'Solution' is a Software Update that is, at present, Not Available. This is the only answer applicable regarding the issue.
The 'Update', one assumes, will never happen ( partly because this scenario has been going on for years ! )
BTW, Regarding Step 1) One goes to 'Wireless' first after 'Advanced Settings' ...and then onto 'Security'. ( Going into 'Security' after 'Advanced Settings', as stated in your 'Step 1' of resolution procedure will only further confuse peeps ! 🙂
