Superhub 3 very hot and either orange or red led

My Superhub 3 is very hot almost cannot touch case and getting either orange or red led, this has been going on for at least a month now.

I have tried pinhole reset as others have been advised but still the same.

I am worried about how hot it is getting. I tried calling customer services, but all they could do was book an engineer visit, and I do not see what an engineer visit is going to do,  other than confirm my problem.

I think this hub must be at least 10 years old by now and seems to be slowly dying. 

An suggestions on how I can get this resolved, as my holidays from work are set and cannot be changed, so arranging an engineer will another 2 months from now.

    Just make sure you switch it off at the mains when you are sleeping or out of the house.

    A VM  person should respond soon

    ModTeam​   looks "urgent" to me

    How does a hub get hotter...its only powered by like 12V 3A if it so hot how is it still working?
