Super Hubs

Hello!

I was wondering if someone could tell me whether or not VM allowed free replacement upgrades of the Super Hubs? I’m still on Hub 3.

  • Hi ImNuMBeR1,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We don't typically replace a hub unless there is a fault that requires us to do so, you upgrade to a speed that your hub isn't compatible with or we stop supporting the hub you have. We do, from time to time, have promotions where we may offer existing customers a hub upgrade, if eligible you'll receive an email.

As it stands, the Hub 3 is still fully supported. Are you having an issues with your hub or connection? If so, pop back and let us know and we can take a look for you.

    Many thanks,

Hello, would it be helpful to reference this recent press release from Virgin Media? It states that there is a *new* policy to routinely upgrade hub 3 and hub 4 users to hub 5.

Although specifics aren't detailed, it says "thousands" of customers will be selected for free upgrade this year, before the scheme is "expanded further" in 2026. (whatever that means).

It doesn't state how they are selecting the lucky recipients, nor if there is anything one can do to get on the free-upgrade list sooner rather than later.

Seems straight forward to me. Upgrades are by invitation, some will be upgraded this year and the rest next year.

  • Thank you all for your responses, I know my previous threads have included heated responses due to VMs network issues, their tech/network team only being trained in basic networking, such should be better trained. Especially with DDoS attacks to customers’ routers/external IPs as the attack ends up breaking the DHCP protocol. VM routers then end up in an endless loop trying to negotiate a connection with VMs network. I’ve had the issue a number of times because of R tards losing and threatening DDoS attacks in response. I even contacted Corporate regarding this.

I double checked the offer details, it is, it would seem, only for those upgrading to or already having the Gigabit package.
