Solid red light on hub

Recently my hub started to show a solid red light. Internet is working fine with everything connected and no drop in speed.

I contacted virgin media who told me it may be a power supply issue so they'd send me a new cable and power pack. This arrived and it's still showing a solid red light. Any help appreciated...

If this is a Hub 3, and if the red LED persists after a pinhole reset, the Hub should be swapped out. This red LED is the overheat warning and should be working correctly. If you wait here a couple of days a VM Mod should pick this up and discuss directly with you.

It has nothing to do with the power supply ...

To be honest I didn't think it did but after numerous attempts at asking for a new hub or an engineer to visit, this was all they kept saying so I agreed for them to send me a new power supply to see if that did work. Unsurprisingly it didn't.

  • Thanks for reaching out to us Pwarbi, and we're sorry to hear of the solid red light present on the hub.

Can you please confirm if the recommended diagnostics have been ran and if the solid red light remains on the hub?

    Thanks,

      Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes, I've ran all the tests a couple of times over the course of a few days hoping it might just go back to normal. After the red light still staying on, that's when I reached out to Virgin media and they insisted it was a power supply issue and they sent me a new cable and power pack. I swapped that for the old one and ran the test again and nothings changed. The service, connection and speeds are still fine, just showing a solid red light on the front of the box. It's a hub3 I think (if that makes a difference?)
