SIMless smartphone not connecting via WiFi

I bought my husband a SIM free phone for Christmas so that he could view his favourite websites without borrowing my phone.  However his phone has been having connection issues for the last couple of months so he has been borrowing mine again.  I have tried rebooting the hub and disconnecting and reconnecting the phone but nothing seems to work.  Can anyone help?

    If you use or have used the VM Connect app, make sure that there are no Wi-Fi Pausing or MAC Filtering entries that would block his mobile from using the Hub Wi-Fi.

    Make sure the mobile in not in Aircraft mode & Wi-Fi is enabled.

    Try deleting the mobile's Wi-Fi entry for the VM Hub and
    then on the mobile re-create the Wi-Fi connection to the VM Hub.

    Sorry to hear of the Wi-Fi issues being experienced on the handset your husband has been using.

    Can you please confirm if any of the helpful diagnostics from Client62 have been attempted and if so, have they been successful?

    If the matter is still ongoing, please confirm if you experience any Wi-Fi issues on any other devices in the property, and if the issue being reported is happening in one specific location or in multiple areas of the property.
