Red flashing light

Hi, around 9pm on Thursday evening our Wi-Fi stopped working. Since then we have had intermittent Wi-Fi. It’s mainly not working but does occasionally come back for a few minutes. I’ve reported it to VM and have an engineer booked for Monday 4pm-7pm, this was the earliest slot available. 
I’ve turned it off and on again several times and checked cables etc but not sure what the cause could be. 
How do I do a factory reset? I’ve called VM several times, but it’s still not working and the only things they have suggested is that I turn it off and on again. Thanks

    I’ve google how to find out what hub I have (hub 5) and where the reset button is. I phoned VM lots of times over this issue. I have two children needing the internet. One needs to submit a university assignment by 9am on Monday and the other has mock exams next week. School have lots of online study links. I’m glad it’s not his real GCSEs. It has really made me realise how much we rely on Wi-Fi, not just for fun things. I also work from home and will have to commute to work on Monday as it doesn’t look like it is going resolve soon. 

    The reset doesn’t seem to have worked. 

    I have checked the status of the router (following instructions from an old post). I have no ideas what they mean.

    Your downstream levels are far too low. The technician will need to fix this.

      Hi

      Thank you for your reply. Hopefully the engineer can sort it. They are booked for tomorrow. 
      I’ve been with VM for years, and have never been offline for this amount of time.
