Pre and Post RS Errors after Upgrade

Hi all,

I upgraded to Gig1 a month or so ago, installed the new Hub 5 and connected it via modem mode to my own router.

I've noticed I've been getting a lot of stuttering when streaming video which never happened before on on my old Volt M500.

Looking through the router stats I've noticed a lost of Pre and Post RS errors, could anyone take a look and advise whether or not I may have a problem on my connection.

Thanks in advance.

  • The stuttering seems to have improved slightly and isn't as noticeable now. I got 100% uptime with no packet loss after running the second test for 10 hours.

The Pre and Post RS Errors are still increasing though.

  • I’ve double checked the cable and it looks ok and I don’t see anything in the connector on the hub either.

I'm just setting up my laptop to run the other test.

      Hi tommo79

Sorry to hear you have experienced stuttering when streaming after upgrading your broadband speeds. We can understand the inconvenience caused, and we want to best help. Can you let us know how the service has been since the last posting? What was the outcome of the test on the laptop?

      Thanks,

Yes, too many PostRS errors, those should be zero or close to.  I'm wondering if there was any "damage" when you replaced the Hub.  It only takes a small kink, or piece of shielding foil to interrupt the signal on the co-ax centre wire and allow ingress of noise.  If everything looks good, then a VM tech will be needed to diagnose.   NOTE - VM will request the Hub is in Router mode to run tests.
