Overheating WiFi Pod

I have noticed one of my WiFi pods seems to be overheating, I can't hear the fan running nor after a restart and it's quite hot to the touch. Concerned about leaving the pod plugged in with overheating.

Is there a way to test the fan operation or obtain a replacement pod?

This is a known problem, and a dangerous one. We've seen photos on here of pods burned out and scorching on the wall.

Take out the pod/s and demand replacements. If you can't get sense on the phone, wait for a VM person to pick this up.

  • Hey riggsy, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear your pod is overheating,

Let me send you a DM so we can look into this.

  • We had to remove our WiFi pods due to overheating and now we seem to be struggling for WiFi at times in certain rooms. Is there a safer alternative?

      Hello W1ldram1079

We're sorry to hear of the issues with the Pod's and the overheating, we understand the concern this can cause and are happy to help via the forums.

It isn't unusual for Pod's to get warm during use, they shouldn't overheat though unless they aren't well ventilated. How many Pod's do you have? If it is more than one, are you experiencing the issue with both or just one of the Pods?
