No broadband for 1 week

I've had no broadband since Sunday 27 April and the eta for this to be fixed is Saturday 3rd May.

How is this acceptable? Spoke on webchat yesterday where I was persistently told "not to worry" and offered £50 credit on my account. It is impossible for me to work with no broadband so I am worried. 1 or 2 days without broadband fair enough but a whole week is totally unacceptable.

  • Hey Mark135, thank you for reaching out and we are sorry to hear there is an area outage, We understand this is very frustrating. Also a warm welcome to the community.

The outage is an SNR outage - SNR (signal to noise ratio). This is just a technical term for interference of the Broadband signal caused by noise which ingresses on to our network. It's a difficult problem to locate and diagnose. This is because noise can ingress anywhere on our network. This affects the whole area..

We do have an automatic compensation scheme here but to qualify services have to be down for 2 full working days  and then you get £9.98 per day for a total loss of service. Please see the link for a full break down regrading this.
